Station Aide Role

The role of a Station Aide at Girl Scout Camp is to lead a station in programming customized based on various ages and abilities of the camper units. The units are by grade level and range from 1st to 6th grade. The Unit will be guided by Unit Aide teens.

Station Aides are teens that can range from 7th to 12th grade, but generally from 7th & 8th grades. Most Station Aides will be set up in groups of 4-6 teens with a Station Adult Volunteer there to assist in guidance only.

The Station Aide Role has Several Responsibilties

Attend Girl Scout Teen Camp Meetings to prepare for Camp - there will be craft supplies available to help with your activities

  • Select a Station Name to go with the Camp Theme

  • Make a Station Sign

  • Make a Station Mailbox

  • Make SWAPS to represent your Station Name

Station Preparation Meetings

Station Preparation Meetings

  • Separate from All Teen Camp Meetings - these meetings are to finalize station plans

  • Station Programming should fill the 50 minute station time

  • Can be held at the park, library, or other public location - Station Preparation Meetings can NOT be held at your private home

  • There must be at least two un-related adults with Girl Scout background checks present at your meeting - Camp Leadership can assist as needed

Possible Station Preparation Activities

  • Make SWAPS

  • Complete Station Poster

  • Complete station activity preparation

Station Aides have a budget for crafts, supplies, etc. You will need to turn in your receipts to Camp Leadership for reimbursement. Budget will vary based on the station programming being planned.
